A Tastemaker's Take : Garden & Grace

A Tastemaker's Take

Meet Crystal Moore of Garden & Grace

Garden & Grace is an IG account that we've long admired as aficionados in the home decor industry ourselves. We've loved getting to know Crystal over the last few years, and admire her use of color and pattern in her own home. She is as lovely in person as her IG feed portrays, and we are so excited for her growing family! Welcome, Crystal, to the EH Strike-Off Blog!

Tell us a little bit about Garden & Grace?

"I started Garden & Grace in 2021 as a creative outlet as a young mom of two working in corporate America. I’ve always had an appreciation for classic architecture and interior design and found sharing what caught my eye on Instagram and later a blog was a way I could connect with others who had a similar lean towards traditional design. I now share full home tours, work with realtors to advertise classic homes on the market, have an online directory filled with local, vetted home professionals, and shoppable links to help my followers find the latest classic looks and home decor! I’m inspired by boxwoods, garden gates, anything lattice and so, so much more."

How would you describe your style in three words?

"Enduring, southern, structured."

How  does color play into your inspiration when styling or creating content?

"I lean towards blues, greens and neutrals (think browns and creams!) when designing my own home but also love incorporating unexpected elements of pink. I think every room should be grounded by a brown piece (or two) of furniture then embellished with layers of color and texture. When styling for a shoot, I love adding in rich elements of color often found in greenery and flowers I snip from my yard."

What are some of your favorite Elliston House patterns?

"I first fell in love with the Dover fabric in apple for my kitchen because it’s cheerful without being overpowering and has just the right amount of white space which helps it feel airy and lite. My latest Elliston House crush is the Sunbrella Posy fabric in fern. I love the pattern scale and the way the colors almost feel neutral against other colors. I have four pillows in this fabric on my covered back porch and love the way they complement my celadon cabana stripe furniture. I’m currently trying to figure out where I can use the Coco Shop x EH Pineapple fabric or wallpaper - it’s the perfect blend of southern hospitality and established design!"

How do you balance home projects with everyday life as a mom / influencer?

"This isn’t easy but I also wouldn’t trade it for anything! I love being able to be home with my family while still cultivating a creative outlet and working with so many wonderful brands and businesses, like Elliston House. I try to set realistic deadlines that I know I can meet and give myself grace if content needs to be pushed out a day or two due to a sick child or home life responsibilities. I also constantly remind myself that the real beauty in life is not behind a screen so while I love the online Garden & Grace community, I don’t want to let it consume my thoughts and time. I find my content is best when I’m the happiest!"

Thank you, Crystal, for chatting with us and giving us a glimpse into your colorful world!
