Meet Sarah Scott
Sarah Scott is the owner and principal designer of Sarah Scott Designs, in Wilmington NC! She specializes in residential design and transforming client's homes into happy spaces, full of color and charm. Her love and background in design started from a young age and considers it a true privilege to get up and serve her clients every day! When she's not designing homes, you can find her with her family on the water or relaxing at the beach!
What is your favorite EH pattern and why?
"I am currently loving the Posey pattern! All the colorways are so good and so versatile! I love this pattern because it can accompany SO many other patterns and add dimension to a pillow stack! It's also great for drapery because it can add subtle pattern play to a space without being too bold."
What is your favorite room to design?
"A family room! This is the heart of the home and it's always so fun to create this space to reflect the family living in it! We are able to make it function for them and be FUN!"
How do you feel about mixing color and pattern?
"I think you HAVE to mix colors and patterns! To me, it's essential in design and creating layers and character in a space! Finding colors that live well together and are easy on the eye is the key! We always make sure the scale of the pattern compliments each other as well!"
What color palettes or inspiration are you loving lately?
"I am loving lots of greens lately and salmon! This is very out of the box for me, but we have been incorporating lots of unexpected colors into our designs to freshen up spaces and keep them all unique and original!"
What is your favorite thing about being an Interior Designer?
"I love bringing joy to client's homes! Honestly, this is why I do it! When we reveal their spaces to them and we truly see and hear their excitement, it's priceless!"
